Has anyone ever told you that you look like that person?

Asked by LornaLove (10037points) June 27th, 2016

Have you ever been told that you look just like so-and-so or you remind them of a person on TV, a movie or sitcom?

If so, did you feel happy about it? Shocked, uncomfortable, happy or flattered?

Care to share?

Loads of people, friends/family & casual acquaintances, tell me I look like Jason Statham.
My shaved head & six pack match up well, being a Brit as well

I’ve been told I look like Juice Newton and Janis Joplin. haha
Juice is closer, Janis was because of my clothing at a party thing a few years ago and my crimped hair. I’m a bohemian type at heart and was looking very 70’s, long skirt, Durango boots, lacy tank top with a black velvet jacket over the top and had my hair in beaded pigtails.

Twiggy, in the 60’s, Farrah Fawcett in the 70’s – 90’s, and once, in the 70’s, some guy at a shoe store said I look like Stevie Nix.

@lornalove – you look like someone I don’t remember who..) To answer your question I look like myself and that’s enough for me..

When I was about 12, I was told I looked a bit like Jerry Mathers (Leave it to Beaver). Fortunately I grew out of that by the time I was 14.

the mother from Family Ties (when both of us were younger)

I think it’s our slight chipmunkiness that does it.

Many times. Growing up I looked like a girl who lived one town north of me. I never met her.

I also was told I looked like Tatum O’Neal many many times. When Dirty Dancing came out. And when it would rerun on TV people would tell me how I look like Jennifer Grey. On and off people tell me I look like Barbra Streisand, once in a while I think they are telling me I look Jewish when they say that. Lastly, I have been compared to Gloria Estefan. Of all the famous people I think I look least like Barbra Streisand and Jennifer Grey. Tatum O’Neal and Gloria Estefan, I have pictures of myself and them that are extremely similar.

Oh, and one time while at work a young woman asked me if I was from Latvia. Indeed, most of my family is from Latvia. She said I looked just like her best friend there. She had immigrated from Latvia about 6 years before I met her.

I’ve gotten Kevin James (King of Queens), Jackie Gleason, and Tony Soprano.

Once I was compared to John Travolta, but I’m pretty sure she meant recent-porky-JT not 70s-sexy-JT.

In my youth people said I looked like Dustin Hoffman and Steven Spielberg (though they are both short, and I am 6’2). At the time, I thought I looked more like Tom Hayden
Now, I think I look more like Ser Davos on Game of Thrones.

She said Robert Downy Jr. But she was being nice and flirty.

I used to get Buddy Holly a lot. I considered that a compliment.

I’ve been told by someone before that I look like the late Rik Mayall (well maybe when he was younger)

When I was an early teenager, a lot of people said I looked like Harry Potter.

No one has ever played the pronoun game with me and lived.

In the 70’s and 80’s people use to call me Gloria Estefan. I think it’s because we had very similar taste in the clothes we wore and some people swore we even sounded the same. But she had a mole under her eye back then and a larger nose.
I liked her, and her music, so to me it was a complement. Except for the nose part.

I’ve never really been compared to any celebrity. When I was a little kid they called me Alice in Wonderland, but then I was a white girl with long blonde hair and my name is Alyson, so it wasn’t much of a stretch.

@Seek Awww…you were (are still haha ) adorable!

Not often. When I was in middle school someone said that I looked like Ray Davies of the Kinks. Very strange.

Today I look like one of the ladies in my mothers Gin & Tonic Canasta club circa about 1968. haha

When I was in my early to mid twenties, people told me I looked like a wide variety of celebrities. I mostly heard Jessica Alba, James King and Shannyn Sossamon. Personally, I can see a mix of James King and Shannyn Sossamon (we actually share quite a bit of the same heritage – French, Dutch, Irish and German, and where she has Filipino, I have Native American). The Jessica Alba comments I never understood, though.

Yes. I’ve been told many times that I resemble Jennifer Garner. That’s a huge compliment, and it always makes my day (week, month…).

I was told that I looked like George R. R. Martin. I told the woman who said that – that she was nuts.

On the old Buck Owens TV show, there were a set of twins, as I recall, called “The Hagers.” I had a woman stop me once and ask if I was one of them. Sometimes I think I should’ve said “yes,” and signed my real name (if she had asked) as an autograph.

Lately people have told me that I look like Daniel Craig. But I think that I’m much uglier. HA!

If people say i look like someone who doesn’t look good… i don’t feel happy about it. But if compared to someone good looking, then i’ll be delighted . (”,)

In the mid 80’s my dad got glasses. My sister and I said he looked like Henry Fonda. He said, “Henry Fonda is dead. What are you trying to say?”
We laughed. :D I miss my dad.

Ha ha! I just remembered. About a year ago my daughter’s boyfriend met my husband, Rick, and several days later she said that her boyfriend said that Rick looks like Mr. Miyagi, from The Karate Kid! Rick and I kind of looked at each other, and burst out laughing. The resemblance is undeniable.
He’s on the hunt for a Mr. Miyagi headband.
