If your audience is pre-warned than its fine.

Then it wouldn’t live.

Nope. Not allowed, not kosher, unethical, wrong.

That’s what The Monkees did 50 years ago.

Are we talking Milli Vanilli where they didn’t actually do the music they pretended to sing or just singing to lets just say their own CD?

I can see cases where I wouldn’t really mind. Like say a Britney Spears concert where it is more theater than anything.

Oh, sure. I do it all the time. It’s when I sing out loud that they threaten to expel me.

And now I’m wondering why this double-posted.

There goes that. I was going to see if I could get a double Perfecto-Fish award.

If it’s synched, it ain’t live. The admission price should reflect the fakery.

If I want to listen to recorded music, I can buy a CD or a record at a fraction of the cost.

@elbanditoroso :: Enter the mind of 15 year old. No care about purity of the art. But you paid a lot to go to a concert and everyone in school tomorrow will be so jealous. And all the likes…

If it’s a song where the singer is doing a lot of dancing I’m fine with it. I wouldn’t want the whole concert to be a lip sync though.

As a rule, I don’t pay for “arena shows”. Elton John’s farewell tour was an exception last year and if he was syncing he did a damned good job at it!
I think if your only goal is to “see” the artist, breathing the same air in your town, then… it’s probably in a sports arena where the sound is shitty anyway. You’re paying for the stage show and experience of being there.
No harm or foul in lip syncing.

They should do it like in those badly dubbed old Bruce Lee films, slight lag would be hilarious.

I don’t like it

For a few songs it’s ok, but thee singer should attempt to sing live at least one song.
