Nope. They’ve been talking about it for days.

Not surprised – just pissed off.

No surprise.

During his rally of the Trumpen this week in Phoenix, Donnie said Arpaio “will be OK.”

Break out the Swastika for the new uniform.
Don’t be born with dark hair and dark colored eyes, you’ll be detained.

Can’t wait until the Bozo shuts down the country (because the Congress won’t pay for HIS wall between Mexico and US) and the bond rate tanks and China will be able to charge us all in the USA MUCH MORE for the loans Trump is floating.

No. It’s one small step for Donald Trump, one giant leap for white supremacy.

Nope. Good Ol’ boys stick together.

I’m sick about the pardon, just sick, but hardly surprised. Once again, given the choice between doing the right thing and the wrong thing, this pathetic president proudly chose the latter by pardoning this sleazy sheriff—the two are cut from the same cloth. Gave his base its daily serving of red meat to boot.

He certainly has an instinct for the inappropriate, the outrageous, and the vile.

Surely there’s a way that irresistible urge of his can be used to catch him too far out of bounds for any defense: a kind of psychopolitical jujitsu. I think that’s a surer way of ending this reign of grotesquerie than any known present effort, never mind the useless attempts at trying to stop the tweets.

And while I’m at it…it bothers me every time I see a reference to ”the wall.” Trump wants funds to pay for a wall. “The” confers a degree of acceptance and solidity on it that I reject. “A” takes it back out of known existence and puts it in the realm of the speculative. A subtle but not meaningless distinction.

The man has absolutely no sense of propriety. A history of this period will record Trump’s pardon of Arpaio as his remedy to the hurricane devastating Texas.

On further thought: I’m willing to guess that this Arizona guy isn’t the point. Trump doesn’t care about him at all. Why should he, when he doesn’t care about anybody else—even his staunch allies?

Rather, it’s a nuclear test. He’s firing a missile into the ocean just to see if he can do it and how far it can go. The more reprehensible the test subject, the more clearly he was convicted of an offense, and the more outrageous the gesture, the more it’s a test of his power to neutralize the consequences of a violation—and nullify a judgment of the court. Now that Trump knows he can do it and get away with it, do we think he would hesitate to do it again?

Trump wants funds to pay for a wall.

Why is he asking Congress for money when Mexico will pay for the wall?

I’m willing to guess that this Arizona guy isn’t the point.

Arpaio was an early Trump supporter, and in his time as the most prominent loudmouth racist birther, Trump announced that Arpaio had “proof” that Obama was born overseas.

Trump calling Mexicans rapists and murderers was inspired by Arpaio

Trump is all about personal fealty. He has no concept of laws and institutions. Everything is a personal “deal” between leaders. There was zero chance that as head of the federal government he would allow the Feds to imprison Arpaio.

kritiper's avatar

I’d bet Arpaio wouldn’t have gotten a pardon if he was a Democrat…

Tropical_Willie's avatar

I bet Apaio wouldn’t have got a pardon if he didn’t spend Phoenix money for “birther proof” of Obama being born on MARS or or wherever for the Prez while running for President.

Payback for winning the Presidency ! ! !

Evil covering for EVIL. Are there Swastikas in the front hall of the White House ? ?

SQUEEKY2's avatar

No but I have heard there are burning crosses on the front lawn.^^

MrGrimm888's avatar

^They were only burning crosses, because the heat was being fixed. That was just the media, trying to smear Trump again…
