DSLR Lens Zoom?

Asked by justin5824 (196points) August 26th, 2008

I want to know, if a lens like this, http://tinyurl.com/siglens/ has ANY zoom? ( Like, zoom in zoom out on the fly) Or is it fixed to 50mm?

It is just fixed at 50mm. If it adjustable zoom it would have a range listed. Like this one

if it was zoomable it would have 2 figure, for example 18–50

Asking if a 730 $ lens has a zoom show that you have no need of it ! :D

The best clue is the word “Prime”. Prime lenses are always a single focal length and cannot zoom.
