Do you take good care of yourself and stick to routines?

Asked by lucillelucillelucille (34325points) November 20th, 2019

Are routines such as diet and exercise part of your daily life?
How long have you been at it?
Are you tired yet? ;)

You already know I do, just thought I’d pop by & say hi :-)

@ucme -Hi!
As long as you’re here, tell me what your regimen involves?

ucme's avatar

Okay, so I run every day, where time allows, in all weather, rain, snow shine makes no difference to me.
Typically, I will run at least 20/30 miles per week…yes I said miles

Been set in this routine for just over four years now & am loving it, best decision I ever made.
I combine this with other workouts push ups sit ups weights, all from home though, never been to a gym in my life, not my bag.

So yeah, as is probably evident, I’m not tired of it yet…be a long time coming too.

@ucme -Do you ever get chased by dogs?

ucme's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille Surprisingly not, been chased by kids on bikes trying in vain to beat me, but that’s about it.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@ucme – They weren’t on those small bikes with three wheels, were they? I hope you understand that this needs to be asked

ucme's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille Gosh no, that would scare me, be like being chased by the kid off The Shining.

@ucme – I have run into a few weirdos while out biking or walking. My last dog would carry a baseball bat for me (to protect me from cats) as my shotgun was…inappropriate.XD

@lucillelucillelucille Loving your style!
I did plan on taking our Buddy, he’s our almost 2yr old Border collie, out running with me. Even bought one of those leashes that tie round your waist, big mistake. He would run in front but the entire time looking back at me, almost wrapped us both around a street light lol

Quickly binned that plan off, so I always run alone, no music, no gimmicks, just me & my slender arse :D

@ucme -It took a fair amount of training but Gracie would walk off leash and it was nice.
My friend raised Border Collies and even had a few sheep to train them to herd.
They are smart,pretty dogs.
I am not laughing at all about the dog dragging you around. Did you get to see some trees up close?
If you really want an adventure, they sell a metal gadget that attaches to the side of a bike and holds the leash.

@lucillelucillelucille Oh he’s very intelligent, just doesn’t look where he’s going XD
You pictured it well, trees, parked cars, buildings…nothing was safe! He pulled so hard I must have looked like I was doing a limbo dance lol

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@ucme – I’d wear him out first by playing frisbee,then take him for a walk.
works on my husband too

Haha, this thread is like a table for two…“oh waiter”

@ucme -Is this cause for worry for the other jellies who might not be outrunning dogs as a regular fitness program?

ucme's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille I mean, quite possibly.
I’m waiting for the “get a room” posse to show up!

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@ucme -As long as they knock first.
