Help, I am new?

Asked by crazyguy (3207points) September 2nd, 2020

I have been clicking on “search for topics”. It gives me users instead with the word in their handle. For instance, when I search for invest I find six users. What am I doing wrong?

When I just searched “invest“ I found some questions, and, at the top, “invest” as a topic.
Maybe your spelling was off? Anyway, good luck, try again!

@canidmajor I just searched “invest” as well, and I got 6 users and no questions.

BUT

When I just type “invest” and don’t click enter or search, it shows questions as a list. Like the drop down results include questions & users.

@crazyguy maybe try click a question from the drop-down. Don’t click enter when you type in a search term.

Maybe it also reacts differently to mobile or desktop. “Search” has been peculiar for a long time now.
Sometimes you can search through google as well.

Thanks all. I’ll try just entering the search term without hitting enter.

My one word of advice is, if you post a question, do it in Social rather than General and that way it will be less subject to having comments modded due to not being directly related to the question.
