Was Pfizer's vaccine announcement held back so Trump couldn't claim it?

Asked by Errormes (23points) November 11th, 2020

It just strikes me as an amazing coincidence that a vaccine is announced just in time for the new president of America to announce it in his first post-election broadcast.

You do realize that Biden won’t officially be president until January 20th 2021, right?

According to an interview I saw with one of the guys (no, I can’t link, I don’t remember where I saw it) the announcement came as soon after the data had been analyzed as they could, nothing to do with the election. These people have been working flat out for months, paying very little attention to the campaign, just hoping to get results as soon as possible.

I doubt it. It’s about saving lives and Pfizer has said they did not take government money to create this vaccine so they didn’t have to answer to government agencies. This means they came out with the announcement without regard to the election.
Edit: I’m just curious as to why you listed suicide as one of your tags?

Possibly, but I doubt it.

My guess is that the Pfizer CEO – who didn’t take government funding – didn’t want Trumpie to even remotely try and claim credit.

Pence tried to claim credit. However the government had nothing to do with it and Pfizer did not accept, or use, any government money to develop the vaccine.

Pfizer is a world-wide company working on a world-wide crisis. They have bigger priorities.

Trump’s welfare is not an all-consuming concern for the world like it is for paranoid, misinformed American conservatives.

You’re surprised that rich and powerful companies manipulate politics to suit their agenda? Especially Pharma? I have no idea if this was a deliberate tactic to deny Trump a “win” right before election day, but I do know that Pfizer donated nearly $3 million to campaigns this cycle to both parties. They spent $11M in lobbying in 2019. They win no matter who is in office it seems.

No. A company like Pfizer doesn’t give a shit who’s in office. The doors to the halls of power are open to them regardless.

@chyna You were the only one that noticed thank you.! x
Firstly I’d like to say I’m not american and don’t personally care who sits in that office.
However, I did recently lose a friend from my group who’s darkness became too much for her to bare. Towards the end, she talked a lot about “there not being any hope insight” and how she “couldn’t cope with the permanent changes to her world”. The question was asked to me by another and i honestly couldn’t answer him.

It’s haunted me since Monday though because news like that could have made all the difference a week earlier and i guess i just need to hear “a few” sensible answers about it not being true.

(Illuminati theories not included in “a few”)
