I still use them in my ear…just being extra careful & after a shower!!! I also use them for removing makeup from around my eyes. They sometimes come in handy when putting meds on a cut or an abrasion…cleaner than a finger!!!

I clean odd areas of machinery with Q-tips.

I clean my dogs ears, any weird projects, dab medicine, and I also use them on occasion in my ears.
@LadyMarissa Isn’t it crazy people were rupturing their ear drums. Don’t need to go thar deep, geesh.

I use them to clean corners and small places that a sponge or paper towel won’t reach well in the kitchen, or anywhere really.

I also use them to apply hair dye on my eyebrows (dye boxes say not to do that). I use the q-tips to wipe die off of my skin also when I first apply the dye to my hair.

Using them in the grooves of the ear, but not in the ear canal.

With a little GOO-GONE they work well when cleaning your pipe.

Cleaning NES cartridges.

I use Q-tips to swab out my nose just before getting a “Covid-test” to make sure it comes out negative.

If you keep getting nosebleeds due to dry, cracking skin in your nostrils you can use a Q-tip to apply vaseline to keep it moisturized.

@KNOWITALL Yeah. I make sure to be careful!!! I don’t dig deep, but I’m like an old dog getting its ears scratched sometimes. It feels so good the foot starts tapping!!! ;}

Cleaning he heads on my old 4-track music players

@Forever_Free – also for cleaning inkjet printer cartridges that have dried ink clogging the jets.

I use them to make my fingernail polish look neater. Sometimes bristles will spread a bit too far, and get a bit of polish on the skin. When I finish, I use a q tip with a dab of remover in it to clear the sloppy spots. It is easier to get just the part I want than using a cotton ball.

@Patty_Melt They even have pointed q-tips that are great for that!

I found this ear wax remover:. Is it worth it? I don’t know the price.

RocketGuy's avatar

It has bad reviews.

@RedDeerGuy1 I tried one of those & didn’t like it. It is safer than a Q-Tip, but it wasn’t very effective!!! IF I know you, you’ll buy one & try it anyway!!! HA

If you’re a geek like i am and you still play NES and SNES, A q-tip comes in handy when cleaning out a Nintendo game cartridge. If you’re playing (For example: Earthbound) and you encounter a glitch or bug, It may really come in handy to remember this.

No. As the commercial with the not so great Bill Cosby stated:

Never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.
