How does Far Cry Blood Dragon compare with others in the series?

I’ve played them all (I think) apart from FC2 and Blood Dragon, which I’m considering buying. Which Far Cry game is Blood Dragon closest to, in your experience?

It’s quite different but in a good way, it’s more tongue in cheek. it feels a lot like FC3 in terms of mechanics, just a little bit shorter.

Personally, I like FC2 more`due to the immersion and realism, but BD is still a great ride.
