Bikers, what's the best piece of winter gear you've ever found?

Asked by skabeep (927points) October 28th, 2008 from iPhone

I bought my first motorcycle at the begining of summer. I still love riding it but omg was it cold yesterday. Later today I’m going to buy a new jacket and thicker gloves. What brands or items would be good to look at? My neck was really cold but I would feel kinda funny wearing a scarf and seeing it blowing behind my Ninja

if you take a long scarf, fold it in half, and pull the two ends through the loop, and pull it tight around your neck, you can tuck it into your coat. Like this.

Under Armour will help a lot when worn under your normal gear. They have a hood thing that will help with that scarf issue as well.

I bought some Harley Davidson gauntlet gloves Not only are my hands toasty, but they prevent the cold air from traveling up my arms and around my back beneath my jacket. I love ‘em! They’re well worth the expense.
