Do any of you know of a program to transfer my music from my iPod back to my computer?

Asked by essieness (7698points) March 27th, 2009

I found this thread earlier, but the programs only work on Mac (as far as I can tell) and I have Windows Vista. I’m pretty internet savvy, but not so computer savvy, so I need something easy to use and fairly cheap.

Any ideas?

@StellarAirman Ok and this works and isn’t going to give me a virus or anything?

This works perfectly.

It’s the one called ‘iPod Rip.’

Itunes allows this or at least used to allow this.
You can only do it on a certain number of computers however. I think 5.

@The_Compassionate_Heretic I thought so too, but when I hook it up, it says if I sync it, everything on my iPod will be replaced with what’s in my iTunes… which means all 10,000 of my songs will be replaced with nothing. Not good… ;)

I’ve been using Sharepod for a few months now. Works a treat.

I believe GTKPod can do this, not sure if it runs on Windows. If it doesn’t, Yamipod does and probably also allows you to do this. And otherwise Floola.

Oh, and you can also just copy the files from the iPod itself and use something like Audio Tag Tool to automatically place rename them according to their tags.

I second senuti.

@TheRocketPig and @caeliste Unless I’m seriously computer illiterate, I don’t think Senuti works with PC.
