What is the best way to clean a laminate floor?

Asked by squilky (84points) May 4th, 2009

My wife and I got Mohawk laminate flooring installed when we moved into our house because it was marketed as being easy to take care of. However, it’s been a royal pain the @$$. I’ve tried dry swiffers, wet swiffers, a sponge mop, and a microfiber mop. When I used the wet swiffer, it looked great until we started walking on it, then we could see marks of where we stepped. The dry swiffer seemed to make the floor dull. The microfiber cloth seemed to work best, but the floor dulled in a few days. The sponge mop with a litle Spic N Span mixed with warm water had the same problem as when we used the Swiffer Wet Jet

White vinegar and water.

@theartfuldodger That is what my mom uses on her floor and is the only thing that doesn’t streak or dull it.
