Why is it so difficult to submit a question on here?

Asked by mvpt (5points) May 20th, 2009 from iPhone

Each question I submit does not give a reason why it is not posted.

[Mod says] Welcome to Fluther! As far as I can tell, you’ve only had one question returned for editing. Check the email address you provided for a link to edit your question, and the reason it was removed. If you have any other questions, please contact me by clicking on my avatar and leaving me a message. I’ll be happy to help you.

I agree I liked Fluther a lot more a few months ago when it seemed more of a free speech site, now it’s a lot more monitored and picky about the things that are submitted. While I understand their reasoning I think allowing the iphone to post questions is kind of ironic since it is so easy to have spelling and grammar errors with a phone. I don’t come on here to often anymore because of this but maybe that’s the intentions of the policies is to weed out some of the users.

I had a question returned twice, because I couldn’t figure out how to word it correctly, and finally gave up. I think it is a good thing to be picky about the questions here. It keeps Fluther from getting filled with nonsense, like some other sites I used to participate in.

@johnny0313x I have only been a member of Fluther for a few days, seeing as I was displaced by the closure of Windows Live QnA. Believe me, this is a lot better for free speech, and everyone knows how to use spelling and grammar properly! It also seems to be troll free. Its great!

There has been a bit of American spelling, but I’ll forgive that.

I just asked a question, my first and it went through straight away, although some might find it contentious.

@mvpt Welcome to Fluther!

I have the same problem from time to time and questions that I really want answered often get sent beck for editing and even when I edit them they often get sent back again. I do find it quite irritatig because I genuinly want those questions answered but no matter how I change the wording (having read guidlines) they aren’t accepted. I understandwhy Fluther has guidelines but it annoys me that I just can’t seem to get it right!

Do not forget to check the archives. I have had questions held back because they had been answered in the past.

@Dog I always do that because I have noticed that those who post a question that has already been asked before get a tiny bit of attitude from other users!

the mods can be real picky. Annoying ain’t it?

The mods are simply following the guidelines set forth by the creators of Fluther.
Members are the ones who usually flag a post which brings it to the attention of the Mods who then compare the post to the guidelines and then hold it for editing if needed.

The mods are not picky.
The mods are not paid.
The mods are just following rules.

Without them this site would not be worth surfing.

@augustlan I cancelled my awkward question because I found a similar question and it worked for me.
