Vista Users - did you turn off User Account Control (UAC)?

Asked by SirBailey (3130points) June 15th, 2009

If you did, why? Was it to solve issues with Vista? What kind of issues?

Yes, it’s useless and a waste of memory to me.

Yes, to get rid of the annoying pop-ups, to facilitate application installation, and to unshackle networking and file/folder/drive sharing. Disabling UAC solves too many problems to list here.

I turned it off as soon as I started using Vista. It was very irritating and did not increase the security since I automatically clicked it whenever it popped up.
