Need 2 fonts for my Mac.

Asked by nmguy (528points) September 20th, 2009

I need to download two fonts (NY and Charcoal) for my new MacBook Pro, but haven’t found a web site that contains these 2 type styles.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

The charcoal font was used exclusively for Mac OS 8 and 9, and then disappeared in OS X (it was replaced with Lucida Grande). The website that used to sell the original font, Font Bureau, seems to no longer carry it either. Your best bet would be to either write the folks at Font Bureau or download the alternative font that was often used for Windows instead of Charcoal, Virtue. They are almost identical, but note that Virtue only comes in True Type format.

As for NY, I believe this is the font you need.
