Can I put this tire on a 2005 Honda Odyssey? 215/70-16 MICHELIN LTX M/S?

Asked by UScitizen (4306points) December 31st, 2009

OEM tire is 235/65–16. Can I use the same wheel with the 215/70–16? Will this tire change speedometer readings? Does anyone have an opinion on this Michelin tire?

I was under the impression that wheels can only have certain sized tires on them. When I need new tires, I have to stick to the same size…and if yours is 235/65/16, then the 215/70/16 will not fit.

I believe since both tires are 16s, that you can indeed put the 215s on them. But you need to change all 4 tires to 215s, or the vehicle will not be properly balanced.

The 215–70 are narrower and shorter. There is no problem with clearance. They will slightly affect the speedo. indicated 65 will actully be 64.47
