Need suggestions for 10-day Europe trip?

Asked by beachwriter (361points) February 4th, 2010

Lucky me, I get 10 days this summer, pretty much anywhere in Europe. Where is the most magical, interesting, rich-in-art-treasures area you can think of? (Not Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, or Italy south of Rome…been there so I’m looking for something new.)

I spent a month traveling all over Europe (11 countries) and my favorite place was Prague. I didn’t want to leave. And there are lots of cool little towns that are a day trip away. I loved Český Krumlov.

edit :: And it is really cheap.

Firenze (or Florence) has world class museums and incomparable treasures.

England is very nice, particularly outside of London.

Prague, Czech Republic. Journey across the Czech border through rich farmlands to Moravia. Never been there but I had a friend who bought on of those train passes and backpacked through many different countries, and slept in a tent. He said it was unbelievable and super cheap:)

Stockholm is lovely. In addition to the new part of the city, with many museums and galleries, there is Gamla Stan (Old Town). Parts of it date back to the 1300’s and 1400’s, and you can find shops and restaurants nestled in the basements of lovely old buildings.

I went on a Europe trip to England, Ireland, and Scotland. It changed my life!! Ireland and England were very scenic while Scotland had some sick clubs.
