(NSFW) Has anyone ever confused "Fluther" with "Fluffer"?

Asked by prolificus (6583points) March 8th, 2010

When I first heard of the word Fluther, the first word that came to mind was (NSFW) Fluffer (someone in the adult movie industry responsible for ensuring that the male actor is aroused to perform). Lots of smirking has resulted whenever I use Fluther.

Has this happened to you? Or anything similar? How have you reacted?

WARNING: THE LINK IS NSFW

LOL. Are you serious?

thriftymaid's avatar

No; is it another QA site?

Ooookay, I honestly didn’t have a clue what a Fluffer was until now.
No, Fluther has always been such to moi :-)

@thriftymaid Oh, you should really press that link

Nah, I’ve seen that movie.

I shouldn’t have hit the link. I didn’t want to know that. Shouldn’t you have marked this NSFW?

@bvdshec17 Thanks. Now I know. No confusion here.

@Judi – so sorry! Newbie mistake. Fixed the question.

Confused it with Fluffer? Nope.
Now, Flubber? That’s another story.

Is that why my peanut butter sandwiches have been tasting so odd lately?

I’ve always been able to separate Fluther from the Fluffers…...so far. There’s no telling what could happen a week from now, though. I’d better practice Safe Fluthering in the meantime.

Can you imagine—what if fluther was a universal fluffer?

I learn so much here!

I think I need me a fluffer!

I try not to mix business with pleasure.

Sarcasm's avatar

@filmfann But which is which?

filmfann's avatar

I’ll never tell…

Now that I have my mind out of the gutter, this is no longer an issue for me. It’s funny how a guttered-mind misinterprets words and images quickly and easily.
