iPhone VPN functions?

does anyone use VPN on their iPhone to connect to work or home? If so, what are the benefits other then accessing email? You can’t access shared files or resources via the iPhone, so that’s why I am curious.

Not sure but I would imagine that it allows you access to your companies intranet via safari as though you were logged on in the office.
