Where is the best place to sell old collectable Barbie Dolls?

Asked by LadyMmaLover (40points) May 1st, 2010

Where is the best place to sell old collectiable Barbie Dolls? I have a set of Happy Holiday Barbies 1988–1993 in mint condition in their original boxes. I have tried ebay but am hoping there is a better option.

There’s a Barbie Doll Convention

You need to make sure that you are not overestimating the value of the dolls. Just because they are “collectible” doesn’t mean that there is a demand for them.

Craigslist gets much less success than eBay in my experience, simply because the audience is much, much smaller.

If I can ship something, I use eBay.
If I only want local pick-up, I use Craigslist.

I agree with @jaytkay .
Craigslist works better for things like cars and furniture.
For stuff that ships, I’d definitely use eBay. It’s popular for a reason.

I am an ebay power and top rated seller and have been collecting and dealin in vintage toys and dolls for over 25 years. Ebay is the place to sell valuable items…. BUT I have to agree with PandoraBoxx… 1st you need to verify the value. The best way to do that is search ebay’s completed listings and find your doll. All collectable’s are ONLY worth what someone will pay for them. Barbie’s were/are popular items and hundreds of thousand were sold.. so for it to be worth over $100 it must be something special and in good condition. Believe it not.. usually vintage barbie clothes, shoes and accessories are usually worth more than the actual dolls. Good Luck!!

Same vote! Just inherited over 75 barbies dated 1990–2005. All holiday barbies, disney, ect. I have no clue where to even begin as far as selling them. I would love to sell them all! Did you have any luck on Ebay?
