A question about fever and some of its related symptoms?

Asked by rebbel (35549points) September 3rd, 2010

Whenever i have a fever i have some symptoms which i would like to ask some questions about.
Today i found out that i am not alone in this.
They are:
– Numbness in my hands, they feel as if they are huge and are made of sand (when i rub them together i also feel this sandy sensation).
– Things in my bedroom (like ceiling lamps, curtains, windows) seem to be both very distant and very close, in the same instance.
Both things usually last only about fifteen to forty-five minutes.
Does anybody know what causes these weird symptoms?
I hope i explained what i mean correctly.

If your fever is high enough you can hallucinate, delerium type reaction of an overheated brain. lol

The heavy hands & feet thing, maybe just that you are in a weakend condition so your body feels extra dense and heavy, a lack of strength due to all the bodies energy going into fighting whatever ails it and the fever.

The sandy sensation, I am clueless. :-/

Maybe next time you see a doctor, mention the sandy thing. I haven’t heard anyone say that.
