It gets It completely incorrect but oh well hey I end up looking through all the questions anyways.

You know, I didn’t care for the feature when it first came out because I always liked scanning all the questions. Mostly, I still do. So my “WTF?!?” comes from a different place altogether.

Well, this question showed up on my Just For You section, and I ended up answering it. So I suppose it does a decent job. I currently don’t have a tremendous amount of lurve, but in the few months I’ve been here, it has been fairly accurate in selecting relavant questions for me even if it shares no common topics.

The majority of them are “what the…”
I usually assume I will ignore the questions in my “just for you” section. Then, after reading, I usually do.

For the most part, they are usually off the mark (but I still read them). Once in awhile I get one that’s more my thing.

When I run out of just for you I go to the home page and find questions that should have been on my list.

Trick Question! I can’t answer NO because Flut sent me this question… and I answered it!… Though I wished it hadn’t, and I didn’t… But I did… so YES. But I don’t like it, so NO. But I’m glad I got the chance to speak on the subject, so YES. But it came in just as I was getting ready to Remove All, so NOI mean _YES, but not really, so NO_.

I have never used the Just for You thing. I’ve opened it once or twice, read the selections and thought ”..yeah, ok..” and never opened it again.

No, not at all. But that may be because I have no topics listed in my profile. Or maybe because I don’t really even know anymore whether it has it right or not. I used to look at the just for you question but I stopped because it just seemed like I was getting a lot of the tech orphan questions. I was just getting a lot of those questions that you, or at least I didn’t even understand let alone have the ability to answer so I simply stopped looking at the “for you’ questions. Maybe I should take another look. But maybe not. I like deciding what questions I am and am not interested in, depending on my mood. I don’t need the flutherbot to do that for me.

It’s like opening another pair of Snoopy socks at Christmas. Oh…...nice! You really shouldn’t have bothered, no really!!

Sometimes it’s right on the mark, but I’m wondering why I got a booger question this morning. I’m pretty sure I didn’t list “boogers” in my topics.

I laughed at Ryan’s answer: check it out – he has 1000 questions in the holster. :-)

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies You ok? That seemed, er, rather painful.

I never look at them anymore. I’m getting a nice collection now, over 300 (not nearly as many as JP). I scan meta, general then social.

For a while I was getting recommended a lot of questions dealing with women’s “feminine” problems. Despite being around women for most of my life I am not an expert in this field.

It does a fairly decent job. As I understand it, it isn’t just based on your topics; it’s also based on the questions you’ve answered. I enjoy the feature.

erichw1504's avatar

I’d say about 60% of them have been something I would be interested in answering.

At this point, I think my “Just for You” shows me most of the questions that come through so I find it good “one-stop shopping.”

OpryLeigh's avatar

For the most part. It’s very rare that I have to click “not interested”.

I have been here just over 1 year, and no, it has not got it right, but neither have the general or social sections.

I’m a little odd on how I pick questions to answer. I could see a question that looks tailor made for me, and choose to not answer it, for a variety of reasons. E.g I enjoy debating the existence or lack of existence of gods, and debating religion in general. But even if I see a question on this topic, I may not answer it if I’m just not in the mood.

I know quite a bit about computers too, but im not always in the mood to, say, explain how to format a computer and re install windows, or how to do some other thing.

Even this question, I looked at it 2 or 3 times before I finally answered it. Mainly because I don’t hardly ever click on just for you. i would say, just for you, orphans, blog, and chat are things I hardly ever click on.

Social is the section I most use, just because I enjoy the relaxed rules a little more. the second most used is general, just because some times i see a question in there that really needs the help.

My 3-year Fluther anniversary is coming up! Sadly, even after all that time and dedication, Fluther still hasn’t figured me out yet. I’m partly kidding, actually.. it does suggest some interesting questions, but I’d say I click on 1%-5% of the ones suggested for me. I previously removed most of them and ‘not interested’ the ones that were way off.. but lately, I’ve taken a firmer stance and I have started using ‘not interested’ a lot more frequently. We’ll see if it helps.

As you all know, I have OCD and those green exclamation point bubbles and the red underlined text irk me. I feel compelled to clear them so I have a nice, clean notification area.
