Is there no such thing as a perfect day?

Asked by Your_Majesty (8235points) August 17th, 2011

It always happens when I’m experiencing a perfect day. Everything seem so perfect for some times then some kind problems start to eliminate all those beauties. I know we live in troublesome world but is it really impossible for a beautiful sunlight to shed its mercy to our monotonous yet problematic world? At least, for 24 hours?

Today is just another version of my unfulfilled perfect day: (Just skip if you don’t want to waste your time)

I woke up lately in the morning, having a soothing, beautiful day, the next half an hour my annoying relatives along with their kids came to visit my place to cause ‘havoc’ , they let their kids shriek and running around while they’re chatting with each others, I was trying to write a book and couldn’t escape to my shared room since my roommates were still sleeping, I also couldn’t go outside since today is my country’s independent day and Ramadhan month so it’s pretty crowded out there. I was striving to preserve my remaining brain cells for a few hours!

Now, the unhappy devil finally releases my half-tormented soul from his grasp, and I can finally return to my beautiful realm again…, at least, for now. I’m so grateful that I was granted with not just miraculous personalities but also beautiful, long-lasting patience.

Maybe the problem is not that your day gets ruined but that you let it get ruined. Some people actually enjoy having their relatives over. And some, not many but a few, actually like kids. Maybe a change in attitude would help you to see the beauty in chaos.

No. It all depends on how we make it feel. You can be fired and still have a smile on your face [even though you liked and needed that job]. You can be happy even when you break an arm or a leg. You can be happy even though you got really sick.

It’s all about your attitude.

If you can experience a perfect moment, that is long enough. The rest is life.

There are other people in the world and each one of them is trying to shape experience to their liking as well. So, you could try a retreat of some kind, which will isolate you from other humans. Some people find that this is perfection. Others find that they really brought a pesky visitor with them: their own mind.

We all want everything and everyone in our environment to conform to our current standards and whims. Sometimes, the “perfect” day is to actually experience the day, moment-by-moment, the way it actually is.

I believe there are perfect days. But I doubt what I consider to be a perfect day would be perfect for anyone else.

Baseball, shooting, jumping, beer and girls make my perfect day.

For me they do exist. A perfect day is when I can literally escape from all my day to day responsibilities and just fck goof off. I have had a few of those in the recent past and makes life a little bit easier. ;)

It’s all matter of perception. I’ve had perfect days before and I’m sure I’ll have more in the future.

I have had about 15 of them over the course of my life and you do go to bed grateful for the experience! A couple of them have even been work days.

I consider each day perfect nowadays.

As long as no one gets seriously sick at home, it is another perfect day for me.

Don’t put so much pressure on the day, relax and if something goes wrong, unless its serious, let it brush by you, without giving it much thought. Let the future you worry about that. Your perfect day will come out unscathed and thank you for it. Remember that a perfect day is what you make it.

You can experience a perfect day, but you can’t determine which day it will be. You have to look back at it and realize it was perfect. However, expectation of perfection of ANYTHING is going to be a disappointment. Mostly, nothing is perfect. (Or was my mother wrong?)
