Why is Mother Nature so pissed at us?

Asked by Adirondackwannabe (36713points) October 26th, 2012

Yeah, Mama is mad. But why? Why are things so much more extreme? What’s your theory?

Mother Nature is like always pissed at us, dude.

Besides, it was probably like a lot more extreme in the beginning phases of Earth like forming and stuff. You know, like with volcanoes and stuff going crazy.

Chaos theory. We are in the crazy between stable states. Weather is consistent for a long time, then Carbon in the atmosphere, or methane, or whatever, makes the complicated system “tip”. Weather will likely be crazy until we reach another stable state.

And I rolled over and fell asleep when I was done.

I always laugh at the saying that ” nature is a force to be reckoned with.”
As IF we even have a chance at a reckoning. Nature trumps, always has, always will.

Individual storms and even individual seasons are much too small a sample to draw conclusions from. There are, however, ever-accumulating bodies of research showing that climate change is real and that things are probably going to get much worse.

@Coloma I always wonder why people hold such store by the weather forecasts, and the UK would be very quiet if no-one mentioned the weather.
Surely it is impossible to forecast what will happen – I have awoken to snow this morning, which really no-one seemed to see coming . . .
Which type of seaweed is it I need to hang up by the door, having read ‘The Idiots Guide to Making-it-up-as-You-go-Along’? Bladderwrack sounds exciting but might predict a water infection.

@SomeoneElse I agree. “They” are almost always off. Every time they predict snow it doesn’t happen, and when they don’t we wake up to a foot and a half. haha
Still…this does sound like a potentially serious storm.

Couldn’t be climate change, that hasn’t been proven.

Mother nature is just indifferent. She is only governed by physical laws. She has her cycle like we all have ours.

Global warming of course.

“Why are things so much more extreme?”

This is incorrect. If you take the temperature of this day for example, and compared it to record highs and lows of the past recordings, you’d likely find that extreme temperatures are jotted down all through out history.

We are currently in “Solar Maximum”

You can read about HERE

To sum it up about every 10–13 years the suns patterns have revealed it’s during this time the solar activity peaks. Think about how politicians use this to their advantage. In 1999, scare tactics of y2K were used and people even pointed at harsh whether patterns… Guess what? Solar Maximum during that period too.

It’s crazy but, of all the science subjects taught, Astronomy seems to reveal more about earth than the rest.

She just gives us a good hiding now and then. Like all Mama’s should

Sometimes she’s not! Lots of times she very benevolent and gentle. But…she also has the soul of a CAT, and can turn on you with no warning!

Sunny2's avatar

It’s NOT Mother Nature, it’s God and she is furious with mankind! for good reason.

When she’s on her best behavior
Don’t be tempted by her favors
Never turn your back on mother earth

Towns are hurled from A to B
By hands that looked so smooth to me
Never turn your back on mother earth

Grasp at straws that don’t want grasping
Gaze at clouds that come down crushing
Never turn your back on mother earth
