What is a good messenger bag alternative to Timbuk2, Chrome, etc.?

I’m looking for a men’s messenger bag. I’m already aware of the Timbuk2 and Chrome brands. Ideally I’d like something that is not made of nylon, but I’ve ruled out leather bags because my area gets a lot of rain. Are there any good alternatives out there?

Brooks makes a great and waterproof bag from leather. I have a Timbuk2 that I love, if that’s any help.
