Can I be notified when my stolen iPad is turned on?

Asked by Supergirl (1696points) April 9th, 2011

My iPad was stolen, and I have the locator activated on my MobileMe and on my iPad, so far the iPad has not been turned on, so “Find my iPad” hasn’t been able to locate it. Is there any way to be notified on my iPhone or email when the dirty thief turns it on, so that I can try to locate it?

If it was properly configured you should get such notification by default. However, if it was wiped, you may be out of luck. Such things often depend on software that can be uninstalled or that gets deleted by formatting.
