How stubborn are you?

Asked by rock4ever (1866points) May 28th, 2011

I know some very stubborn people and I myself am a stubborn person. How stubborn are you all here? Do you know when to give up? Do you ever give up? Do you know where the line is? What is worth fighting for in your opinion?

I’m very stubborn. If I think I can win something then I’ll gamble and push. If I feel something’s a lost cause then I’ll sometimes stomp it, kill it, shred it.

I am a perfect example of do as I say and not as I do because some things I’ve done are reprehensible.

It all depends on the issue. There are some things where it’s got to me my way or the highway. There are other things where I don’t care.

My wife thinks I’m stubborn, and I’m sure there are other people who do as well.

As for giving up… I guess I never have to give up because I never set my heart on anything very specific. I figure there’s more than one way to do something, and if I keep sliding around I’ll eventually get somewhere near where I wanted to go.

I don’t know if I would say anything in particular is worth fighting for and yet everything in general is worth going after. But think of me as water flowing down the hill. I’ll slide around whatever’s in my way until I get to the bottom. A million things will get in my way and nothing will stop me.

On important matters, very.

On fluff, just a little bit :)

The only thing I am really stubborn about are my ‘deal breakers’ in relationships.
Lie, manipulate, or otherwise show me your true colors, ONCE, and your history!

It depends. Is it a deeply held value of mine that someone’s trying to get me to go against? Mule-level.

Otherwise, not so much.

I can be very stubburn sometimes. It just depends.
@Neizvestnaya My mother always used to say do as I say and not as I do

Very. I won’t back down, no way.

I’m quite stubborn. It’s something I’m known for. It’s not usually a problem (it’s how I’ve been able to resist various peer pressures), but it can be negative sometimes…

I;m not stubborn at alkl—got that? Now don’t ask again, because I’m not about to change my tune on that.

I’m stubborn as shit, but only in my mind. I’ll just smile and nod, but still do shit my own way. Too dramatic and complicated otherwise. I can’t deal with that, and it would only lead me back to breaking point another day, yea?

ecstaticpancakes's avatar

Not very. I give up so much I let people walk all over me. :(

jrpowell's avatar

I don’t let people walk all over me. But I know when it is easier to walk away even if it gives the perception that I was wrong.

I don’t want to argue, I just want to drink a beer and play on the computer. If I have to let you think you win so I can walk away I will happily do it.

When I lived with my sister I did it all the time. She would get mad and I would say, “I fucked up.” and walk away. She thought she won but I actually did. I turned 2 hours of her crap into 10 seconds.
