Who would you notify if you got food poisoning at a fast food restaurant?

Asked by Neizvestnaya (22667points) October 5th, 2011

My mom ate a salad today and got disgustingly sick. I called McDonald’s (800) number and reported it to a live operator but don’t know if there’s someone else I’m supposed to call.

Of course, but I wouldn’t imagine them doing anything about it.

Of course.

You can tell the manager but again to repeat the above two answers… No one will reall do much beyond maybe giving you free passes to get sick all over again.

*That’s why I never eat fast food.

The health department in the town that the restaurant is located. And if you still have the salad you can bring it to them for a sample. I’ve had this happen to me before :(

@Ponderer983: Thanks, I don’t know why I didn’t think of the County Health Dept.

I would notify the manager of the branch that you ate at, and I would write a letter to the corporation.

@marinelife: I’ll be stopping by there on my way home tonight.

The health department is right and yes, keep the salad. Your mother may not be the only person who got sick and there may be a problem with that particular establishment and their hygiene protocol.
