Anyone know what I could be sick with?

Asked by kb12345 (435points) June 29th, 2012 from iPhone

Okay, so a few days ago I got 5 shots at the doctors. Just typical ones needed such as a TB test, booster etc. that day and ever since I have been feeling very sick. Achy, head ache, waking up sweating. I went to a water park yesterday which now I realize I shouldn’t have since I probably worn myself out even more. Now tody I feel sick to my stomach, almost nauseas. I am just very tired and only feel well when I take a few Advil or Tylenol. Anyone know what could be wrong? Or what I could do to feel a little better?

Have you called your doctor’s office with this complaint? This could be an atypical reaction to one of the vaccines you had.

Yes, I do know. No, I’m not going to tell you. It is most likely not anything I know about.

Call your doctor. If you don’t have one, it’s time to get one. Now that the ACA has been upheld, a doctor should be much more affordable.

Did you mention it when you went back for them to read your TB test? Or, the symptoms had not started yet?

Why the hell did he do 5 shots at once? Are you including the TB test as a shot?

Take advil every 4–6 hours since it is helping, don’t wait to feel sick before you take it, I assume you have a fever, and call your doctor.

They were the shots I need for college so he got them all done at once I guess. Yes the tb test I considered as a shot

And does anyone know something that could settle my stomach??

Did you get a meningitis vaccine, then? All of these symptoms are common for this vaccine.

No matter what, you need to inform your doctor of the adverse effects.

@kb12345 When did you start to feel sick? Did you have them read your TB test?

If you think it is related to the vaccinations the doctor should fill out a VAERS form. And, most doctors won’t know what the fuck that is, and that is why vaccination negative reactions are extremely underreported.

However, if the symptoms just started today, there is a possibility you are simply coming down with something unrelated to the shots.

I still think you should report it though, let the FDA or CDC decide whether it is related or not,

@spatzieLover yes that was one of the shots!

Then do as @JLeslie stated above:

Take some advil & call the doctor to have him/her fill out a VAERS form. It’s importnat that your doctor’s office be informed.

Your GI tract will settle down a bit once you’ve controlled your fever. For now, BRAT diet, too.

@spatzielover could you explain to me what both of those mean?? Sorry !

JLeslie's avatar

@kb12345 GI is gastrointestinal, so she means your tummy upset. BRAT is banana, rice, applesauce and toast.

Anything easy to digest is fine. Crackers, soup, some gingerale.

Okay thank you so much!! Would pepto be a good idea or no?

@kb12345 Try the BRAT diet first and see if you feel better in the next day. But regardless, you need to call the doctor’s office that administered the shots. If you don’t feel better, let them tell you what to do before you self medicate yourself into feeling worse.
