What does "huy hayes" in the subject line mean?

Asked by victord66 (201points) July 4th, 2012

For the last three weeks my inbox has been inundated with spam emails with “huy hayes” in the subject line. What does this mean? Why this particular subject line?

It probably doesn’t mean anything. A lot of spam is written by non-native English speakers or gets run through a translation program after being written in another language. Misspellings also act as a way to get around spam filters (though they are an increasingly ineffective measure for doing so). Ultimately, it’s just something to fill out the subject field.

If you are truly interested in the deeper meaning of spam, however, I highly recommend checking out Spamusement.

It is a Vietnamese name – and a trick to get you to click on it.

It’s Spam that’s probably supposed to be “Hey Hey’s” to look like from a friend or someone you actually know.
