Take a washcloth and run it under the hottest water from the tap. Then fold it up and ring it out a bit. Sit in a comfortable chair or lay down with the washcloth over your eye. Leave it on for about 15–20 mins. You can repeat a few times if you’d like, giving it a rest for about equal time before you repeat. (2–3 times.) That took care of it for me. Those are a pain, but the hot washcloth feels nice. Good luck.

Check out this previous thread. That said, row4food is right, hot compresses are the way to go. Good luck.

Exactly. Follow row4food’s advice. And don’t waste your money on over the counter meds. They’re pointless.

If you can’t be bothered with earlier posts, don’t use too hot water because eyelid skin is sensitive. I would say compresses 5–10 minutes 4–5 x daily, according to my Ophthamologist. I now wash my eyelashes every day with a drop of baby shampoo on a cloth. It lowers the chance of reinfection.

Have you heard the Urban Legend that a stye is the product of lying to a pregnant woman? I can’t tell you anything at all to help, but that tidbit cracks me up.

thanks you guys.
@ gimmedat: i don’t think i know any pregnant women. That is pretty funny.
