What is the longest time you haven't left your house for?

Asked by Headhurts (4505points) October 13th, 2013

A few week ago, I had a week off work and in 9 days I only left the house for 1 hour. We don’t normally lesve the house from when we get in Friday night till Monday morning. I think the 9 days was a record though.

What is the longest you have stayed in for?

Probably about 6 hours unless there was a snowstorm..

Weeks. When my depression and anxiety get bad I can hole myself up for a really long time and not even notice.

Maybe 3 days, unless you count going out for the mail. In that case, one day a week: Sundays and holidays.

I hardly ever leave the house, I hate going anywhere. Once a week I might feel forced to go shopping, when my little grandsons are here, but mostly we just play in the house or yard.

I am supposed to walk a mile every day, but I seldom do.

I work from home and often there is no need to leave the house but I get a bit stir crazy after 24 hours in my small flat. 36 hours is probably the longest unless you count periods of illness.

I can easily go three or 4 days without leaving my property – and I love it!
I will work in the barn. I can nap in the sun. I can split firewood. I can walk in the woods. .Lately I have been collecting nuts morning and evening. Does that count?

For actually leaving the house maybe it was a couple of days after my surgery.

I too could go several days or more when I lived on my property this past 7 years, up until my boat sunk last spring. lol
Now, I am out every day, and Sundays are my only day off, so they are the days now that I actually get to stay in my PJ’s to noon if I want.
I miss my secluded home and property, more than words can say.

I think there must have been a couple of times in my life when I didn’t leave my apartment for a week at a time. I can’t remember the last time that happened, though. I will sometimes now go 2–3 days without “going out”, although this usually involves at least spending time out on my balcony. Being a grad student can be a little intense. :P

Probably a week.

less that a day. an earth day, just to clarify

I’m gonna guess about a week. I usually only leave the house 2 or 3 times a week anyway. Mostly just to run errands.

A full weekend. Work calls Monday morning, bright and early.

After surgery, about 11 days.

If we count being sick, probably a week. If we don’t count being sick, probably 5 days. Are we counting going outside on our own property? In FL before I moved to TN I worked from home for the most part. I was working, going in the backyard, swimming, talking to my real etstate partner. It wasn’t like days spent at my house was being cooped up.

Probably two to three days, three times. Two major floods and a monster snowstorm. I love my place but I also like getting out and doing things.

Until I need to go to work go shopping get exercise have an appt or need to breath outside air.

Also sometimes I need people.

I never really counted. But not going completely seems really unhealthy.

Three days after surgery. Then I couldn’t take staying in any longer and went for a drive in my car. It was a big mistake. I couldn’t even get out of my car once I got to my destination. I was too tired to move.

I almost stayed in for a full day the last time there was a big blizzard. It was the perfect time to stay in- there were a few good friends over, and we had a crate of booze, a ton of food, and every video game known to man.

A couple hours in I got restless, and decided to go for a walk “to see the snow.” Like you can’t see the snow perfectly well from inside the house. ◔_◔ One of my boots got stuck in a snow bank and I fell on my ass in this slushy groundwater on the side of the road. It’s probably a miracle that I didn’t dye of hypothermia.

I don’t recall ever staying in for more than a few days at a time, usually when ill with something like the flu.

After major spinal surgery in 1996 I was a house-prisoner for 6 weeks. Wasn’t even allowed to be a passenger in a car, I guess because they’re afraid that even a minor accident can screw-up the surgery.

There was no internet then, everything on TV of course sucked, and trying to read always made me fall asleep. I remember hearing traffic from a few blocks away and thinking “Wow….those people can go anywhere they want….”
