So what are the updates with the Batman movie theatre killer?

One thing I heard is that a scumbag GOP politician said it was a good thing that he had a 100 round mag.

He said “maybe” it was agood thing he had 100 round magazine because it jammed. If he had multiple 10 or 15 round magazines who knows how much damage he could have done.
Stupid but sort of true.

As far as the shooter, his lawyer is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. He’s been through some psych testing, and he’s supposed to be going through more. The judge has a gag order on the case and most of the hearings so far have been closed. Because of the gag order, that’s pretty much all the info that’s out there.

James Holmes’ trial date is still pending dozens of pretrial motions that are being sorted through. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty; defense is pleading insanity. It will be up the jury to decide.

I did a little checking on the interwebz…. not official. It appears the nutjob’s 90 round magazine was a piece of junk. That caused his AR-15 to jam. He had to then use another (less effective) weapon to do his dirty work.
I am no fan of politicians or the GOP but, in this case, clearly his words were taken out of context.
