I dunno. What does “pro democracy” have to do with anything? Americans say that as if it meant something good, but in practice democracy is just mob rule. Russians have no history of concern about forms of government, except that life under the tsar sucked, and communism was better but they eventually had to face the fact that it never worked the way it was supposed to.

Americans sure like to talk about politics, but they are strangely reluctant to learn what the words mean.

@SmartAZ What do you call what he did with Crimea? What did Trump say about it at time time?

Trump admires Sadam (Iraq) and KIm Il Jong.

@flo I call it business as usual. And it’s not my business to tell other countries how to manage their corruption.

@flo You are making an assumption that a group that would side with a man who wants us to be cut off from the world would care about what happens anywhere else.

Few of his supporters know what Crimea is.

I would bet money that less than half can find Iraq on a map, 13 years after they cheered for war there.

Sorry. I don’t understand the question.

The anexation of Crimea was an act of war, on a sovereign nation. It was an invasion, and capture of territory. Though not your run of the mill war, it was a war nonetheless. Democracy had no relevance in any part of Russia’s actions.

Trump supporters think?
Obviously an oxymoron.

Trump has a famously short attention span. He probably believes that what Putin did was justified, and for democratic reasons. A quick read of the Crimean status referendum, 2014 leads one to believe that Crimea had voted to join the Russian Federation.
Read a little deeper, and you see that “The March 16 referendum’s available choices did not include keeping the status quo of Crimea and Sevastopol as they were at the moment the referendum was held.”
The “read a little deeper” part would befuddle Trump, I’m certain.

A Trumpet’s thinking goes like this:
“Putin strong! Puting smash pansy weaklings!”

“Trump want to punch protesters in face- like in good old days when America was great!”
