When playing scrabble or scrabulous or wordscrap on Facebook, what do the black arrows mean when you click on an empty tile?

Asked by jballou (2128points) August 1st, 2008

They don’t seem to do anything or have any effect, and are undocumented in the help section. Any ideas?

I just ignore them. Click in the same spot till they go away.

They’re hooks for keyboard input. You click on an empty square, you can now type your letters with the keyboard going in the direction the arrow is pointing.
