The song title is Undun. It is an interesting song. I always took it to mean her world was coming undone…the guy that she thought loved her was lying, the dreams she had were falling apart…that sort of thing. But I understand it was all based on some girl that had a really bad acid trip one night…her life came undone. Don’t know if she died or what.

It’s about a girl at a party doing acid who passed out & went into a coma. An old Bob Dylan song created the idea. For more info, go here

The expression “to come undone” literally means to come apart or come unfastened. If a button of your shirt comes off and the shirt opens up, you’ve come undone. If I have my hair up in a bun and the clip falls out, my hair has come undone. I don’t want my package to come undone in the mail or a wrapped birthday present to come undone before the recipient opens it. Coming undone is never a good thing.

Figuratively, it means the same thing as “go to pieces” or “fall apart.” Someone who comes undone is probably freaking out somehow or at least in a bad state emotionally. It could mean anything from very upset all the way to totally going nuts or losing her mind.

I think it is definitely a drug reference, in the sense that the girl has lost touch with reality.

Fell apart, in pieces.

Thanks all! I thought there may be a story behind the lyrics. The drug reference seems to fit. I appreciate your comments.

Well, it’s been a long time since I heard the song so I tapped Youtube. Here When you read the lyrics you get a sense of hopelessness. Whether it’s drugs or something else, she just got in way over her head.

“Being undone” can also mean to be without hope for the future, having experienced great disappointment or ruined by a disastrous or devastating setback or reverse.
