Why do commercials show strawberries with the leaves on?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24468points) September 17th, 2018

It bugs me. Also why do they sell pasta with un pealed shrimp? What are some food pet peeves that bother you? I saw whole chicken wings , with bones, in a sub sandwich once.

They show huge, juicy hamburgers like Big Macs and they are actually flat burgers that are halfway hanging off the bun.

To imply “freshness” and “un-processedness”.

It’s for the color contrast. Strawberries with the leaves still on looks more appealing & it gives you a little handle to make eating easier & you just toss the little cap!!! There’s a study out there that says we choose our foods with our eyes before our mouths. I don’t care what the studies say, my mouth is smart enough to know when my eyes are lying to it!!!

You’re familiar with the expression “Leave Me Alone!”? That’s what strawberries say.

Because lots of people (like me) use the leaves and stem to hold the strawberrybefore dipping into something and taking a bite.

GREAT for dipping in melted chocolate without having chocolate finger tips!!!

Red and green are complementary – opposite each other on the traditional color wheel. They contrast well and create a vibrant and striking look. If you saw a photo of strawberries without their leaves, you’d see a blurry mass of red. But, when red’s the dominant color, with green leaves for accent, the effect is very appealing.

You also our own food pet peeves. I love oatmeal porridge with walnuts, but they need to be chopped. I’ve been to restaurants that simply toss walnut halves into the oatmeal, big chunks that are don’t blend at all and are unpleasant to eat. The last time this happened to me, I wrapped all those walnut halves into a paper napkin and took them home for my backyard squirrels.
