Eating out, buying books and music (including my vinyl hobby), traveling. In that order.

Eating out/groceries and home improvement/maintenance projects. Food costs have really increased for me over the years, and my home seems to always need attention (This year it may be new siding and a new water heater).

@gorillapaws except for eating out,I really wouldn’t call those other things frivolous.

Eating out and entertaining.

We are foodies and love to cook good food, have folks over to eat good food, and go to restaurants for more good food.

Every month, we look at what we spent on food and vow to cut back — but we never do.

Then we justify it by saying we don’t drink, drive expensive cars, or wear fancy clothes — so food is our thing.

@SQUEEKY2 I realize that some home-improvement/maintenance isn’t really disposable, but the timing of when I do those tasks makes it different than if it was a complete emergency. I feel like having the luxury of preemptively replacing an aging water heater to preempt a catastrophic failure does have a non-necessary component to it (I certainly feel lucky that I have the opportunity to save up and make that purchase without having to go into debt to accommodate a plumbing emergency like most Americans likely would). The siding may be less optional. If I wait too long to replace it, it’s going to be a very expensive project due to water damage.

MLB tickets

I’m a lifelong fan, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than a game. We’re often at Camden Yards and Nationals Park.

Health club dues
Beauty parlor – hair, manicures, and pedicures
Cosmetics
Skin-care products (the pricey ones that actually work)
Botox injections

I’m vain, and I’ve never been embarrassed or ashamed to admit that.

Whores? You have to pay for sex? Or do you consider any woman who would have sex with you a “whore”?
