Some people say that stews taste better overnight, but I disagree. I think all food is best right after you make it, in my experience.

Soups/stews. It takes time for the flavors to absorb. There was a cartoon in the New Yorker showing a waiter speaking to a couple at a table saying, “if you’re willing to wait, our soup is better the next day”.

My spaghetti sauce is great, but improves when it sits overnight.

Movie theater popcorn. The salted butter is awesome.

Roast Beef.
French onion soup.
Both of those things leak flavor into the other ingredients the longer they sit.

Nothing. Paper plates have no taste at all. Glass dishes are tricky because if they shatter in your mouth, you get all sorts of shards of glass.

Ceramic, painted dishes sometimes taste good if the clay is soft enough and if the potter used a tasty paint.

But generally, fresh food tastes better than any dishes at all.
