Steve Bannon, former white house chief strategist under Trump called for the beheading of Anthony Fauci. Should he be arrested for terroristic threats?

Asked by chyna (51308points) November 12th, 2020

Here are the details.
Should this be brushed off as just someone running their mouth, or should this be considered a real threat?

His bail should be revoked and he should be put in custody again.

I agree with @Call_Me_Jay.

Otherwise, I wonder what Kathy Griffin would say. ;-)

He should be arrested similar to when I said Kathy Griffin should be arrested and Madonna also when she said to blow up the White House.

Now now peeps. Its only terrorism when them thar Mooslims do it. If its a Gawd fearin’ Republican, its ok. Dang Sochlists/.

And the Rep/cons claim the democrats are all hate.
Guess this proves the Rep/cons are about peace and love.

@SQUEEKY2 Yup, I’m impressed.

Yup and Bannon wanted to “Off” the head of the FBI, guess Bannon will have the last five years of Federal tax returns audited and the next five for good measure !

He thinks he will get a presidential pardon when Cheeto McFatass is exiting the White House.

Could Steve Bannon be even nuttier than Trump? He should be put away in an asylum.

Nazis gonna nazi.

Get over it.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

@si3tech Do you think the head of the FBI can get your address ? ?

You can “Get over it.” too !

seawulf575's avatar

Nope. After all, the Dems set the standard when Madonna said she was thinking an awful lot about blowing up the White House and when Kathy Griffin posted a picture of her holding up a bloody, decapitated head of Trump and they were protected from any legal repercussions.

JLeslie's avatar

@seawulf575 So, you thought that was all ok?

seawulf575's avatar

@JLeslie No, I thought it was tasteless. But there are many things that are legal in this world that I think shouldn’t be. And when the precedence has been set for what is “acceptable” withing the bounds of free speech I find it repulsive to even suggest that the acceptance is based on the target of the speech.

JLeslie's avatar

@seawulf575 Bannon has power in different places than the others, so he isn’t exactly the same as a comedian or actress, but I thought they all should be arrested as I said above. I never said convicted, I said arrested.

I wouldn’t say precedent has been set. People speed down the highway and only a few get a ticket. Just because something isn’t addressed one time doesn’t mean it won’t be the next time.

chyna's avatar

@seawulf575 Exactly which democrat should’ve gone and arrested Madonna and Kathie? Don’t you see how ridiculous you sound? trump was in power, why didn’t HE do something to get them arrested?

seawulf575's avatar

@chyna When the Dems were either silent or vocally in support of the others, they become complicit and have indicated to the masses that that sort of behavior is acceptable. BAMN, remember? Griffin was shunned by some in her profession because she went unstable, not because of her display, though that was a sign. But that is in her profession. We are talking about arresting people. So if you think Bannon should be arrested, why aren’t you supporting the idea that Madonna and Kathie should be arrested as well? Don’t you see how ridiculous you sound?

seawulf575's avatar

@JLeslie Bannon really has no power whatsoever. He has been disgraced in a number of ways. But the concept is the same. If you feel he should be arrested for saying Fauci’s head should be on a pike, you are saying there is a limit to free speech. But that same limit was exceeded by others and you seem to support them. So what is the limit? Is it different for those who attack Trump as opposed to others?

JLeslie's avatar

@seawulf575 Did you read my answers? What are you talking about? I am completely consistent. You can go back in Fluther history to when Kathy and Madonna did and said those things, and at the time I said they should be arrested.

It is completely illegal to threaten the life of a president. It is also against the law to threaten anyone. That is not about free speech.

People have some sort of screwed up idea about free speech, there are limits. Free speech is primarily a protection to speak out against the government, something that in many countries gets a person locked up in jail or killed. Speaking out against government policy is not the same as threatening someone’s life. Free speech was about a free press and the individual right to speech.
