There are two sides to a coin. And the Covid pandemic must have it’s positive side as well?

People getting to spend more time at home with their families, and more time for recreation like hikes, due to working remotely.

More people have home gyms.
More businesses have found allowing employees to work from home workable.
Fewer Republicans left alive to vote.

Darwin wins.

Women have gotten faster at getting ready when going out because no one is going to see your face grocery shopping.

Make-up last a lot longer so you save money there.

And for many you learn the real hiden character of some family members or friends and you learn who has been just taking up space in your life who isn’t necessary.

Less make-up means healthier skin.

Pets that are usually home alone for hours have more time with owners who now work from home.

More time with love ones.

Projects in the home are getting done, instead of being passed down for weeks.

People are taking the time to learn things they have been putting off, like different recipes, or desserts or a new hobby, or learn another language.

People with social anxiety had an eighteen months blast of a time (socially).

The public has been educated in many different ways. Whether they understand or believe the message or not has been left up to them. That makes it really easy for people to decide which group they want to socialize with.
We got to spend almost a year with our grandchild and it was wonderful!

Working from home, so less commuting, less gas being used in cars, less pollution, more time to sleep, more time to be with family. Some people moved to places they really wanted to live because they could work from home.

People retired early and moved to places they really wanted to live.

It seems like some low wage jobs got a pay hike, but I’m not sure if it’s true, and I’m not sure if it will stick long term.

I see around me some people lost weight and focused on health and some people gained weight during this ordeal. So, some people had a positive health benefit.

A lot of people are more in touch with friends and family who live far away. Zoom calls and phone calls seemed to be happening much more during the first year of COVID19.

More people understand how viruses work and spread a little better. That will probably prevent some other illnesses from spreading too.

@filmfann Wow, more Republicans dead? I wonder if that’s true, and especially I wonder if it’s true that more voting Republicans are dead in purple states? I’m in Florida as you know, and our presidential elections are extremely close, every vote counts. A lot of people died here. Congressional seats are really important too, I wonder if some states lost seats and more specifically congressional and electoral seats. Florida actually gained an electoral vote this last census. Next census there might be a really big shift in voting power.

People fly less meaning less jet condensation trails and more sun. These jet trails are a real bastard!

A lot of people said they were sleeping better. Me too. I had a 45 minute commute so just not having to deal with that a lot was so much less stress.

I retired from my government job. Life is short. May as well enjoy it. I may do something else in the future, maybe a part time job, but it will be closer to home and less hours, and something I enjoy more.

Another plus is that more animals were adopted out of the shelters.

My skin has been amazing (no make-up.)
I’ve kept 15lbs off for almost two years from not eating out.
My stress level has decreased significantly. Saving mileage and auto repair plus gas from not driving daily.
More corporations are adding mental health benefits, telemedicine and other needed help for 2022.

@KNOWITALL Telemedicine! Yes! I had wanted that service for 15 years, and finally covid19 ushered it in.

There are too many people on the planet, which means any problems we have are greatly amplified. COVID is killing some off and that can’t be too much of a bad thing…

SQUEEKY2's avatar

It’s killing off a lot of ant vaxxers.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

Maybe it helped reduce other infections. From social distancing and mask use.

Pandora's avatar

@kritiper We are nearing 5 million, meanwhile our population is nearing 8 billion by 2023 we will have reached 8 billion..

kritiper's avatar

@Pandora Yepper. 8 billion. And some experts have stated that the world should have a maximum of only 500 million. (That’s million, with a “m”.)

Some humans have realized how sensitive and fragile our common existence is on this planet. If rational human minds prevail there is good possibility we could do better in preventing our shared humanity from going extinct.
