Why can't cap shells be used in an airgun?

Asked by sgk052959 (4points) June 9th, 2022

I want to buy a co2 bb airgun that can use dummy cap shells. Is this possible?

Cap shells explode because they are hit by something (the hammer).

CO2 uses compressed air to shoot the BBs.

That sounds reasonable. (I am a novice) I’m still going to purchase the airgun that interests me, but I guess it will end up being a display piece. Thanks for your answer!

You can’t. Two completely different things. One is a noisemaking toy the other is not a toy that fires a projectile.
