Barack Obama will avert the apocalypse single-handedly.
Oops, did I say “Barack Obama”? I meant “Chuck Norris”.

kevbo's avatar

Chuck Norris will avert the Obamapocalypse with a single roundhouse kick to the Hope-bone.

Barack Obama will blast the terrorists away with his rays of awesome

We all know the apocalypse was just a lie made up by the repubs. :P

But….I’m a repub…

Allie's avatar

Oh, well um… sorry? But you’re in my wagon for Oregon Trail! You’re an exception, Kiev.

asmonet's avatar

I think I’m gonna accidentally sleep through the inauguration at this point.

I’m looking forward to having the Republicans implant a credit card chip in my wrist so I can get my wallet off my sciatic nerve. I’d like to visit the Capital City for the World Government on my vacation. I hope they decide to put the World Capital in Poland.

Me too asmonet. I’ll torrent it or find it online later on. Or watch it on TV all over again. I’m sure they’ll play it again.

asmonet's avatar

Yeah, too bad a lot of the torrents are gonna be bullshit for a while. :(

Oh hey! Tivo.. what what? I’ll have my best friend Tivo it for me. Tada! Mischief managed. (Wow, I think my nerd just showed a little bit.)

Isn’t flirting considered off-topic? Be careful, you might have your flirt removed by a Moderator!

My life is off topic…
Anyway!!!!!!.... New American Era. Anyone? Anyone?

psyla's avatar

I love going totally off-topic & at the last sentence going back on topic to preserve me from being moderated. By the way, could you kindly answer my Fluther question “Are Moderators omniscient?”? And what about my question about if issuing Treasury Certificates to save the economy.. Wouldn’t this be the solution to the apocalypse? Also, how can a person’s life be off-topic?

Hope, man.

gooch's avatar

Yes the the era which marks the begining of the end.

Bluefreedom's avatar

I’m ready for a new change, a fresh perspective, and a whole new reason to have hope again.

When and if we enter a new era I will have an opinion. Right now, we are swearing in a new individual into the office of the President of the United States.

Many have promised that new era in the past and many have failed, why does the majority think this will be any different?

steelmarket's avatar

American politics has a lot of inertia. I am scared that Pete Townshend nailed it when he said, “meet the new song, same as the old song”.

TitsMcGhee's avatar

Judging from the number of people who showed up in DC and the genuine excitement, the willingness to usher in a new era is definitely present. I think that America needs a change, and this is definitely a great avenue for it to come on.

tiffyandthewall's avatar

i think that the best we can all do is be optimistic and as involved as possible. i’m kind of scared that the majority of americans are not going to put forth the effort they need to in order to make these changes because barrack is seen as a savior who can do all of this by himself. but i’m hoping that everyone will take his words to heart and take part in making things better. (:

@steelmarket – *boss

(p.s. I concur.)

seekingwolf's avatar

At this point, I don’t really know what to think. I really don’t.
I’m trying hard to be somewhat optimistic and taking a “let’s wait and see” attitude.

I am most curious to see how the current problems will be dealt with.
Really REALLY trying hard to put my intense dislike of Obama behind. Sure, I dislike him, but he’s president now, and now we need things to get fixed…it must be a bipartisan effort.

TitsMcGhee's avatar

@seekingwolf: I think if anyone is going to be able to make an honest, bipartisan effort, Obama will be that person.

asmonet's avatar

I totally slept through it, but I was saving a video feed overnight, so yay!

peyton_farquhar's avatar

I am with Tits, but then again I’m with Tits on just about everything.
I am excited about the fact that Obama has stunning pecs where past presidents’ moobs have been.

pekenoe's avatar

@peyton_farquhar : I’d be leaning toward Tits too. Great pecs definitely a plus. Nice to start the day grinning, thanks.
