How can i increase the sensitivity on my macbook pro's airport?

I notice friends on pc’s getting much higher signal strenght from Wi-fi’s and in some cases getting signals my macbook pro won’t find… is there something i can do to make it more sensitive?

isn’t that due to the fact the Mac is made of metal and therefore the signal can’t get to the ariel?

@Lightlyseared i feel like a dumbass.. i never figured that the metal casing would interfere… hell.. i thought it would act as some sort of antenna.
