Most of the people in my fluther came with me from Askville. I’ve only met a few here that I’ve added. It’s been people that I’ve talked to & felt a kinship to for one reason or another.

Generally, if they make me laugh a few times or if I enjoy their thoughts. It’s normally done after I feel some sort of connection with the person.

Someone I was friends with on wis.dm. Once I know people here better I’ll add people whose contributions I enjoy

Stop linking to porn.

@q2me Now why do you have to go and be a jerk?

SuperMouse's avatar

@fireside you summed up the reasons for adding to my fluther perfectly!

@g2me, please stop with the porn links already.

Maybe if they make me laugh.

or don’t link to porn.

@dverhey What’s the difference between a friend and a best friend?

DeanV's avatar

I haven’t really made any best friends here, but i have had some conversations (via comments) with a few people here, so i’m not really one to ask.

In my opinion, a fluther “friend” is not just somebody in your fluther, but somebody you have had some sort of conversation with outside of fluther, or on other social sites.

I don’t really have any “best friends” on fluther, but i have friends.

@dverhey I like your answer. Actually, I was setting up a “joke” I really like – and sometimes live by:

A friend will help you move.
A best friend will help you move a body.

I add people based on my interest in the type of questions they ask but more importantly, I add them based on the types of comments they leave to other people on questions I find of interest. Some people post good questions but then act like jerks in their responses, those people I might read up on but I won’t add them.

I add someone to my Fluther if I like the Qs they ask. That’s the only reason really, seeing that my fluther is used to see Qs asked by a selective group of people. To me, my fluther isn’t about who your friends are or who you like, it is just whose Qs I would like to answer.

I only add people that I have slept with.

jlm11f's avatar

@johnpowell – Man, that night must have not been that good for us, since I don’t recall it :P

fireside's avatar

@johnpowell – Whew! I had to go double check and make sure I hadn’t blocked anything out.

@johnpowell @PnL Get a room boys. :P

jlm11f's avatar

@Zen – I am pretty sure I am a girl :)

fireside's avatar

@PnL – prove it, devi : P

Zen's avatar

@PnL sorry, I meant guys. Not boys. JK anyway. You are in a room.

I add people to my Fluther because I like them and I like having lots of friends. That’s reason enough in itself.

jo_with_no_space's avatar

I add people whose responses interest me.

jonsblond's avatar

Like @PnL, I add someone if they ask great questions. I also add someone if they are very helpful, kind, or witty (like johnpowell) in their answers, or if I form a connection with them.
