What are your thoughts on spontaneous human combustion ?

Asked by sandystrachan (4417points) June 20th, 2009

Not really sure on this one myself , though i do find it hard to understand and workout .
I think it is more likely a fire on the outside of their body , maybe some alcohol and some cigarettes / heat source .

Don’t care for it myself, but that’s just me.

I heard tell that the most plausible cause for reported incidents is that the victim, probably while asleep, was lit afire by a cigarette or other contained source, burning the outer layer of fat on the body as if it were the wax on a candle. A flame thus produced is very hot, sufficiently hot to destroy bone. If the room is closed, the fire will smolder rather than burn, and the surroundings may escape combustion.

I think I nearly reached that level with my temper the other day…at Wal-Mart. I hate that place.

Incubus wrote an awesome song titled Pardon Me about it…

Yes, well if it actually ever happened I might have some thoughts on it.

I like not being splattered across the room. And that’s about it.
