Problems with scanning on my Dell?

I have a Dell XPS 400 running Windows XP Media Center Edition hooked up to a Canon PIXMA MP600 printer/scanner/thing. Whenever I try to scan a document, the computer tries to open a program called Sonic MyDVD or something. The program is completely irrelevant and does not work with the scanner. I believe all of the drivers are properly installed, but i might want to check, but I don’t know how to. Any ideas?

If it were me, I would uninstall and then reinstall the Sonic program. There may be a shared dll that is executing incorrectly.
