Do I need a surround system connected to a blu-ray player for surround sound?

Asked by Moxy (182points) December 12th, 2009

I am getting a blu-ray player and a HDtv and I was wondering do I need my home theatre system connected to the blu-ray player to get full surround sound? I’ve heard the blu-ray player can put out 5.1 surround sound in it to tv. But I want the sound to go all over my room with me in the centre of it, to feel like I’m in the movie.

How many times have you asked this question now? People have tried to help you over and over, yet you seem to pay little or no attention. Is there some reason the earlier answers you received haven’t pleased you, or do you just have a tic?

Is this an appropriate place to mention Hanlon’s Razor?
