How do you send money to someone in another country without putting a check in the mail?

To avoid a check getting lost in the mail, what’s a good way to send money internationally to a friend?

Use an electronic bank transfer. You’ll need lots of different routing numbers, but it’s the safest way.

Or just go to Western Union.

Isn’t that expensive?

Different banks have different fees. Ask yours. Western Union wire transfer is probably the cheapest.

I have always found Western Union to be reliable and convenient as they are the largest and most well established worldwide.

My son in Sweden has a pay pal account, and I just put money in that.

I send money home all the time. I send cash wrapped up in letter paper. they walk to the local anz and exchange it.
