Tragus Peircing Problem?

Asked by AliRedling (7points) April 17th, 2010

I got my tragus peirced about 3months ago. I was doing everything to do to keep it clean and it seemed like it was go good but this sore sprung up on my ear and i thought it would go away because this happened with my cartilege peircings and it went away. But its been there for almost a month now so I took the earring out and now this clear liquid is coming out of my ear and theres still this big nasty sore. What should I do? The picture of it is set as my profil pic i know thats kinda weird but I couldnt see anywere else to put it.

why dont you take it off? not to be rude, but that looks pretty bad. it needs some time to breathe the longer you keep it in there, and the more you play around with it, the worse it will get. go to the place you got it pierced and ask for their opinion. and they can tell you what is the best thing to do.

eep. take it out. clean it with antibacterial handsoap (Dial usually works best for me). get some Vitamin E Oil, you can get it by itself at Walgreens or CVS or buy the vitamin E Oil pills and break them open. use a Q-tip and coat your piercing with the oil. put the earring back in and don’t touch it, take it out, or sleep on it for a few days. see if this works in about a week, if not I’d take it out and let it heal up.

I’m late in on this and you’ve probably already figured out that it’s a scarring that can typically occur with tragus piercings. Just can’t remember the term at the minute. Anyway, I had the same problem. I was told to break up an aspirin, wet the tip of a cotton bud and gently scrub the bump. It breaks up the fluid inside I think. I ended up taking mine out, but I’m going to get it re-done in the next couple of weeks as I miss it a lot.
